The year that was 2020

31.12.20

Well that was a year that none of us will forget anytime soon.

From global lockdowns to complete changes in our work lives and personal lifestyles, covid has left no corner of our lives unchanged.
And whilst 2021 is starting with the same restrictions that we have been living with for the last nine months, and many peoples lives have been affected by this awful pandemic,
we are going to look into 2021 with a bit of hope that the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight.

We also wanted to take this opportunity, at the end of a frankly unprecedented year, to thank and appreciate our colleagues and clients with a look back over some of the rare positives of 2020 for us at Suna.

AWARDS

This year has seen the Suna team bag more awards than ever before, from winning the London Interior Design category of the prestigious International Property Awards, and our win in the interiors category of the ‘Oscars of the housebuilding industry’, the WhatHouse? Awards, to being recognised as one of the Best Suppliers to the FTB market and bagging a slot on the finalists rundown for our interior design in the Sunday Times British Homes Awards.

SHOW HOMES

2020 has seen some spectacular show home installations, from working with housing associations on shared ownership properties to our two flagship installations of the year, for Mount Anvil at Hampstead Manor and Argent as Gasholders London.

INTERIOR SPECIFICATION

This service has gone from strength to strength in 2021, and whilst we are currently working on several large scale developments that won’t come to fruition until 2021 or beyond, we have also seen some projects that we have been working on for the last couple of years finally be realised. Samuel Square for Southern Space is one we are particularly proud of as it doesn’t follow the usual developers mould for bathrooms and kitchens, instead utilising strong colours and design details from the art deco period in which the original development was built.

MARKETING SUITES AND PUBLIC AMENITIES

Whilst marketing suites have always been a strong part of our offering, 2020 has seen projects for student accommodation and large communal area projects come under our umbrella to a much greater extent. More images of these projects will come out in the months and years ahead as our current designs progress to being built, but for now here are some snippets from an amazing student space designed and installed for BTB Student at their Avon Way accommodation in Colchester and a particularly fun marketing suite for Hill Residential at the Ironworks in Cambridge,

DESIGN FOR CGI

And last but by no means least, our Design for CGI service has been a bit of a lifesaver for our clients in 2020, allowing them to market their developments online and remotely whilst physical one-to-ones and site visits with their purchasers were not always possible. This service has also served our specification and public amenities design side of the business, allowing our clients to reveal future developments and launch off plan. This project for Telereal Trillium at their 127 West Ealing develpment perfectly showcases our design abilities across both apartment interior and communal area specification design.

So, to sign off on on 2020, we would like to thank all of our clients and suppliers for the continued and ongoing support of the work we do at Suna Interior Design, and to wish each and every one of you a happy and healthy 2021. Keep safe.
