Commissioned by Argent LLP to design the penthouse at Gasholders London, Suna Interior Design channeled warmth and edgy elegance. With an eclectic mix of British designers combined with bespoke craftmanship and cutting-edge contemporary design, the resulting space captures the character of a London savvy creative and conveys a harmonious balance of sophisticated comfort and polished British style.
Set within a refurbished triplet of Grade II-listed, cast iron gasholder guide frames, the impressive property is located next to Coal Drops Yard in the heart of King’s Cross. With an incredible backdrop of the London skyline outside each room and captivating artwork from established and emerging UK artists, the buyer will feel the presence of beautiful craftsmanship and sophisticated warmth in every nook and cranny. From the Paul Smith ‘Carnival’ Rug in the living area, to the bespoke artwork by Helen Booth and Emily Moore on the walls of the stairway and study; from the historic images by Linda Benedict-Jones of the Gasholders in the 1970’s in the snug to the unique handmade feature light from Atelier Schroeter in the hallway; from the stunning Tigermoth pendant light over the beautifully crafted solid oak dining table from William Garvey to the edgy and characterful Timorous Beasties wallpaper in the secondary bedrooms, every single element of this design has been considered and selected to bring the design to life.
Rachel Jones, Residential Marketing Manager comments, “We appointed Suna via a pitch process and it was clear to see their passion for the project and how their ideas took inspiration from the industrial yet contemporary elements of the building. The process has been seamless, from design concept right through to procurement and installation. The result is a beautifully appointed penthouse, each room with its own character, yet it all works seamlessly together. Suna have injected colour, luxurious fabrics and textures, plus bespoke elements, it’s difficult to choose a favourite piece or room. This will make a wonderful home for someone and it comes with many lovely stories behind the design and product selection, making it truly unique.”
